Leaving on a Jet Plane
Lanie dragged her suitcase down the staircase. It was the third one and she breathed deeply as she checked her luggage one last time. She sat at the front porch waiting for the taxi that would bring her to the airport to arrive. A few minutes later, the taxi came and the driver helped her put her luggage inside the car. Lanie took one last look at the house she grew up in and smiled sadly, she was definitely going to miss this place. She stepped inside the taxi and before the driver took off, she looked at the house next door wishing that he was there watching her.
Lanie arrived at the airport a few minutes later. She realized she only had a few minutes left before departure so she immediately proceeded to check inside the plane. Once inside the plane, Lanie looked for her seat, finding it, she sat down and closed her eyes. She hugged her shoulder bag tightly, feeling tears prick her eyes. God, she was scared and excited at the same time. She’s been waiting for this moment to come and now that she’s here she was scared out of her wits. She was leaving her home, everything and everyone she loved for something so unsure. Lanie could remember how he looked when she told him she was leaving. The man she loved tried to hold back the tears and she felt her heart break at the sight. Looking back now, she wondered what would have happened if Junsu had stopped her from leaving. Would she be sitting in this plane at this moment?
Lanie inhaled deeply when she felt someone sit beside her. She wiped the tears from her eyes, her seatmate might think she was a crybaby or something.
“A beautiful lady like you should not be crying.” Lanie’s seatmate said as he offered her a handkerchief.
“Tha—“ The thank you she was about to say got stuck in her mouth when she realized how familiar the voice was.
Lanie looked up slowly, scared that she was only dreaming and that her ears might be playing tricks on her. But once she took sight of the man beside her, she held her breath. There he was, her Junsu, smiling at her.
Junsu then held her hand and brought it to his lips saying, “I can’t really let my other half leave me, right?”
Tears filled her eyes as Junsu hugged her tight, saying ‘I love you’ over and over again. Lanie felt that she couldn’t be any happier. And as Junsu kissed her lovingly, she knew she was complete.
